Cheese of the week - Vintage Lincolnshire Poacher

Vintage Lincolnshire Poacher ranks as one of our favourite cheeses both in flavour and in how it's made. It has a deep, complex flavour with some sweetness that hints at French mountain cheeses such as Comté and Gruyere but with a cheddar like texture and feel as the process of making it is close to that of cheddars. 

The cheese is hand made at Ulceby Grange Farm, using unpasteurised milk from the farm's own herd of Holstein cows and the Vintage is matured for 18-22 months.

We love to nibble this cheese with a glass of chilled Gamma Ray from Beavertown Brewery.
