Luxury cheese selection

We love cheese. We love all cheese (well almost) but we've tried hard to select some of the best cheeses we could get our hands on to make this luxury cheese selection. If that's not enough we've selected some wonderful chutneys and crackers to go along with them.

Driftwood - One of the best goats cheeses we've ever had. Smooth and creamy with an almost mousse like texture that's perfect with the light nutty and citrusy flavours, Driftwood is a wonderful British goats cheese. Great with the buttermilk crackers that are also part of this hamper.

Vintage Lincolnshire Poacher - Aged for approximately two years, the Vintage Lincolnshire Poacher is a modern classic. Cheddar-like in appearance, Vintage Lincolnshire Poacher also has a cheddary texture but the flavour is more of a mixture of mature cheddar and Comté. Complex, fruity flavours that are forever changing on the palate and a great partner for a hoppy ale or robust red wine.

Isle of Wight Blue - When you think of British blue cheese, you think of Stilton, Shropshire Blue and the other famous territorial blues but after tasting Isle of Wight Blue you'll be thinking of this and licking your lips when anyone mentions blue cheese.

The Truffler - The Truffler is an indulgent, truffle infused soft cheese from Cornwall. Produced in the style of a Brie, the cheese is then infused with wild truffle oil giving it a lovely, yet subtle truffle flavour.

Red Nose Gold - Gruyere is an excellent cheese as it is, but Walo von Muhlen takes the finest Gruyere and while it matures for 12 months, red wine is regularly rubbed into the rind imparting some lovely flavours into the cheese. Distinct floral flavours with fruity notes lingering on the tongue.

Fourme d'Ambert - One of France's oldest cheeses and often referred to as 'the connoisseurs blue cheese', Fourme d'Ambert is one of the most beautiful and creamy blue cheeses you can have. Fourme d'Ambert should be rich, balanced and creamy with a perfect blue flavour.

Strathearn - A relatively new kind on the block, Strathearn is a cow's milk cheese which is regularly washed with 10 year old single malt whisky. This imparts a full flavour and pungent rind to the cheese. A definite showstopper.

Vacherin Mont d'Or - The ultimate in luxury cheese. Soft and gooey, Mont d'Or can be enjoyed at room temperature or baked being deliciously gooey either way. Wrapped in spruce with a lovely, undulating crust on top, this really is the ultimate cheese.

Crackers

Millers Buttermilk Wafers - These wafers are created to be eaten with cheese. They are light and delicate so as not to distract from the flavour of the cheese and textured to have the right amount of crunch.

Fire crackers - Tasty crackers with a hint of chilli to light up your tastebuds. Great with soft, creamy cheeses, which help balance out the kick from the chilli.

Chutney

Spiced Pear Chutney - a wonderful blend of pears and spices, this chutney is a great accompaniment to several cheeses in this hamper, especially Isle of Wight Blue, Fourme d'Ambert and Vintage Lincolnshire Poacher.

Onion chutney - This is the finest onion chutney we could find. Subtly sweet and tangy, the flavours are balanced enough to accompany almost any cheese but the chutney is especially good with hard cheeses such as cheddar, gruyere and buttery blues.
